What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

The following are the core beliefs of Bethel Memorial Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

We Believe – in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the original writings.

We Believe – in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We Believe – that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.

We Believe  – that Jesus Christ died for our sins as our substitutionary sacrifice;  and that all who receive Him by faith are justified and eternally  saved. Once someone trusts Christ as their personal Savior that relationship is eternally secure in Him.

We Believe  – that the present ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus Christ: to guide, instruct and empower Christians for godly living and  service. The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts for the believer to use in ministry for the Lord.

We  believe that some of the gifts, such as speaking in tongues, were used  to establish the early church and are no longer operating today.

We Believe  – in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost; the saved  destined to a literal heaven, and the lost destined to a literal hell.

We Believe – in the imminent, personal rapture of the church and the premillennial return of Christ to the earth to redeem Israel.

We Believe – that water baptism and the Lord’s table are the two ordinances for the church.
